Position Summary: An Attorney III is the primary attorney assigned to a caseload defending 1st and 3rd party cases relating to the defense of personal injury lawsuits. Most cases are complex and involve completed surgeries, traumatic brain injuries, punitive damages, or other serious injury with potential excess exposure and case values up to $500,000. Cases are handled from inception through posttrial motions including bench trials, jury trials, and binding arbitration. Position Summary: Generally works under the direct supervision of an Attorney III, providing support to said Attorney III in the nature of trial support, depositions, trial documents, prepare law and motion documents, appear at law and motion and other court hearings, research, medical record review, and other specific case assignments. Position Summary: Entry level position that provides secretarial and administrative support to professional legal staff. Demostrates thorough degree of legal knowledge, compentence and secretarial skills. Prepares and files legal documents, motions, pleadings and coorespondence of a legal nature as directed. Maintains attorneys calendar, sets court dates and appearances, and schedules meetings with witnesses and other involved parties. Maintains department records. May be required to support up to as many as three litigation attorneys.
