Overview

Position Summary:

 

Exciting opportunity for a change management innovator with an expertise in developing stellar materials leveraging AI from start to finish!

 

Work Design & Innovation is a new function at Mercury with key focus on spearheading future forward ways of working along with redesigning work for the age of AI. You will be joining this new function as the Work Design & Innovation Specialist to help teams across Mercury put Future Forward Ways of Working into practice and scale new ways of working. Sitting in the Future Forward Ways of Working Lane and reporting to the Principal Work Design & Innovation Manager, you’ll turn Future Forward priorities into practical assets, tools, and support that make new ways of working easy to adopt working cross-functionally across Mercury. You’ll also run the Change Champion community across Mercury that carries these practices into everyday work. Working closely with the Manager who defines the movement and owns its methods, tools, and measurement, the Specialist builds collateral, enables champions, and tracks how adoption is landing so the program keeps improving. The work directly supports Mercury’s Work Design & Innovation goals of improving speed, quality, and better experiences on the journey to becoming a top-15 P&C carrier by 2030.

State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:

$63,410 to $117,348 (NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)

$57,646 to $106,680  (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)

$51,881 to $96,012  (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)

 

In CA: Typical hiring range is $81,341.00 to $99,417.00 

 

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.

Responsibilities

Translate Future Forward Ways of Working into Practice :

  • Turn Future Forward priorities, frameworks, and principles into usable, well-designed assets including communications, playbooks, templates, one-pagers, and how-to guides leveraging AI for everything you do!  

  • Develop enablement and training content that helps leaders, managers, and employees adopt the Future Forward ways of working (e.g., working from visible knowledge, outcome-first framing, intentional async vs. live collaboration, and using AI to amplify impact) 

  • Apply and adapt the methods, tools, and measurement the lane owns; keep assets current, consistent, and on-brand as the model evolves 

  • Curate practical AI and knowledge-led examples, prompts, patterns, use cases, that help people get value from Glean and other tools, supporting “AI for everyone” across Mercury 

  • Help package what works into repeatable, shareable formats so good practice scales beyond individual teams 

  • Coordinate with the team on materials, action tracking, and draft outputs and continuously contribute ideas to continuously improve the team’s own ways of working, basically role-modeling Future Forward in how the team operates 

Own the ongoing engagement of the Future Forward Ways of Working Change Champion community: 

  • Support the day-to-day running of the Change Champion network so it’s a vibrant community of people who are intrinsically motivated to drive impact  

  • Help onboard, equip, and coordinate champions with the resources, updates, and talking points they need to advocate for Future Forward Ways of Working 

  • Capture champion questions, feedback, and success stories, and feed them back into the collateral and the program 

  • Help recognize and amplify champion contributions to sustain momentum and grassroots adoption 

Track adoption, feedback & improvement:

  • Support adoption, feedback and improvement tracking, including building dashboards that show how adoption of Future Forward Ways of Working is landing 

  • Work cross functionally across Mercury teams to gather feedback and lightweight metrics, surface insights and improvement opportunities  

  • Maintain documentation, action logs, and decision records so the lane’s work is transparent and easy to build on 

  • Help identify what to refine, scale, or retire based on what the evidence shows 

What success looks like: 

  • A current, well-organized, and well-used library of Future Forward assets - playbooks, templates, and guides that make new ways of working easy to adopt 

  • An active, well-supported Change Champion community that extends Future Forward’s reach across Mercury and drive real measurable impact  

  • Growing adoption of Future Forward Ways of Working, supported by high-quality enablement materials and a clear feedback loop 

  • Positive feedback from champions, leaders, and employees on the clarity and usefulness of the collateral and support provided 

  • Future Forward practices that visibly advance Mercury’s compass: improved speed, quality, and better experiences of work 

  • AI-fluent ways of working  

Qualifications

Education 

Minimum:    

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred. 

Experience 

Minimum 

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in enablement, change and adoption support, program coordination, communications, or a related field 

 Preferred:  

  • Consulting experience preferred, but not required  

  • Experience with Glean or similar AI platforms a plus 

  • Experience with the insurance industry preferred 

Skills & Abilities 

Minimum:  

  • A self-starter and natural driver, excited to help build something new and energized by tackling the challenges that come with it 

  • AI-curious and tech-forward, a hands-on user of AI and collaboration tools, quick to learn and already in the process of redesigning how you work yourself using AI to amplify your impact 

  • Creative and strong builder of toolkits, templates, training, and communications, and enjoys excelling at keeping a knowledge library organized and easy to find 

  • Some experience supporting communities, networks, or change/champion programs, or a strong interest in doing so 

  • Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented, keeps many pieces moving without dropping details and takes pride in polished, consistent work
