Overview

Position Summary:

 

The primary job function is to maintain and build the relationship between the Company and the agency force in an assigned inside territory.  Serves as the primary liaison to the agency force, which includes increasing sales, profitability management, training agents on Company systems, products and processes, as well as facilitating the process of agency ownership changes within their territory. Participates in an assigned telephone hunt group to answer and resolve agency phone calls.

State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:

$55,318  to $96,646   (CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)

$50,289  to $87,860  (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)

$45,260  to $79,074   (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)

 

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plans for virtual and phone sales calls with assigned agency’s by scheduling meetings or conducting outbound phone calls with an established agenda reviewing agency production and profitability levels. 
  • Provides feedback and recommendations to management concerning market conditions, service levels and effectiveness of Company programs
  • Responds to written correspondence, comments, questions and concerns from agents
  • Establishes path to achieve semi-annual/annual production goals
  • Reviews and monitors agent production reports, loss ratios, and holds performance discussions to improve and drive new business growth and important agency metrics that will determine or influence the future of an agency appointment
  • Promotes products and programs to agency partners via phone or video conference to ensure understanding in Company philosophy, procedures, and practices 
  • Participates in a phone queue for incoming calls to assist with comments, questions, and concerns 
  • Gathers competitor intel
  • Facilitates the process of agency ownership changes. Analyzes and considers current business operations in order to develop a recommendation.
  • May require attendance to group conventions and/or tradeshows.
  • Other functions may be assigned

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (as determined by Company policy) required.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience with sales and marketing 
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have professional written, phone and virtual communication skills to effectively collaborate and build relationships with agency staff and team members.
  • Must be comfortable participating in video conference calls as needed. 
  • Must be able to interact professionally with agencies and other team members to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to support Company policies, offer technical guidance and facilitate training sessions as needed.
  • Must be able to train agencies virtually or via the phone
  • Must be able to travel by automobile and/or airline 5% of the time for agency/company meetings or events.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.  
  • Ability to motivate, monitor and develop assigned agencies to maintain a knowledgeable and well-trained agency force.
  • Negotiating and mediating skills to achieve resolutions and explain Company policies.
  • Ability to analyze complex reports and multi-task assigned projects.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products.
