Overview

The Large Loss Property Claims Manager is responsible for the performance and development of team members who manage, investigate, and resolve complex Homeowners property claims; ensuring a high-quality work product and service excellence

 

Geo-Salary Information

State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:

 

$98,699 to $182,896   (CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)

$89,727 to $166,269   (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)

$80,754 to $149,642   (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)

 

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Accountable for monitoring and assessing team member performance through spot checks, file reviews, ad hoc reports and other methods. Delivers continuous feedback and coaching and rewards and recognizes employees to reinforce behaviors that ensure service excellence.  Initiates and conducts performance management of employees as needed.  
  • Promotes the training and development of his/her team members and supervisors to build their competencies and readiness for increased responsibility
  • Develops, recommends and implements continuous improvement initiatives which result in cost effective enhancements in quality and service. Builds positive relationships with internal/external customers to accomplish organizational goals
  • Works with Human Capital to locate, interview and select top talent for the organization

 

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum: 

  • Bachelor's Degree Required 

 

Preferred: 

  •  CPCU or AIC Designation preferred
  •  TX & OK Adjuster License required

 

Experience:

Minimum: 

  • 10-15 years of Property Claims experience with 8+ years superior Property Claims people management skills preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience 
  • Can apply develop and execute complex claim handling, coverage application, and legal strategies
  • Experience in reviewing and interpreting building plans, engineering reports, legal opinions, cause and origin findings and other expert reporting
  • Experience leading remote teams who can achieve business objectives 
  • Experience in creating a productive and supportive work environment of highly engaged team members who create highly satisfied customers 
  • A creative problem solver who can react to market changes, handle day-to-day issues and lead special projects when needed 
  • Can apply advanced problem-solving skills to continuously improve business outcomes 
  • Can apply advanced knowledge of claim processes, policies, procedures and claim systems 
  • Can apply advanced skill in motivation, organization, training, coaching and facilitation of teamwork 
  • A track record of developing front line claims leaders

 

Skills & Abilities:

Minimum: 

  • Deep knowledge of Homeowners coverage and endorsements  
  • Technical knowledge of and proficiency in property evaluation, estimation, Xactimate and XactAnalysis 
  • A strong knowledge of construction methods, nomenclature, and procedures. 
  • Written and verbal communication skills to effectively and professionally interact with internal and external customers, vendors and other third parties 
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office and/or Google suite of programs  
  • Ability to use advance video technology to collaborate
