Position Summary:

The primary job function of a Technical Support Technician is to be responsible for planning, upgrading, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware and software related end-user computing devices such as desktop, laptop, mobile devices, their peripherals and related technologies. 

 

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide day to day technical and operational support for Desktop and Laptop computers including complex technical support troubleshooting, system monitoring, and hardware and software upgrade, setup, installation. 80%
  • Plan and execute new deployments, upgrades, and technology refreshes. 10%
  • Schedules and/or coordinates vendor service calls e.g. repair, installation, equipment recovery, and preventive maintenance. 10%
  • Regular attendance at work on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours and 40 hours per week.
  • Other functions may be assigned

 

 

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum:

  • Worker characteristics are normally acquired through completion of a 2-year undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems or related field.

Preferred: 

  • Completion of related industry certifications such as:
    • CompTIA A+
    • ITIL
    • HDI 

Experience:

Minimum:

  • 1-3 years of prior end-user Computing Support including configuration, installation, upgrade planning, and troubleshooting complex operating system and hardware issues.

Preferred: 

  • Knowledge of MacOS

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Experience in supporting, upgrading and evaluating Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office applications, Android or IOS operating systems and related hardware and software systems.
  • Experience with end-user device scripting, packaging and imaging technologies.
  • Experience with end-user device security and endpoint management and protection technologies.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Follows end-user computing processes and procedures and may make recommendations to these processes.
  • Require excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate complicated concepts to both management and technical staff and thrive in cross-functional environment is highly recommended. 
  • Must be able to travel to remote company locations and be available to work extended hours and/or weekends on short notice.

Pay Range

USD $50,055.00 - USD $90,100.00 /Yr.
