Overview

Coaches, mentors, supervises and leads a team of Small Claims Representatives with respect to assisting insureds sued in Small Claims. This

position may involve handling Small Claims files based on the business need.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs and supervises the daily operations of assigned Small Claims Representatives.
  • Assigns hearings, manages workflow, monitors quality and timeliness of assignments, reviews briefs and may handle special projects and
  • assistance in handling Small Claims assignments.
  • Assists in the training of new team members in handling small claims matters including preparing for hearing and post-judgment issues.
  • Obtains necessary evidence, witnesses and exhibits for hearings; prepares briefs and meets with insureds/prepares insureds for in connection with handling Small Claims hearings.
  • Tracks and records small claims statistics.
  • Works with manager in developing Training and Procedures for Small Claims.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating educational opportunities.
  • Reads and understands professional publications regarding changes in Court rules and procedures.
  • Attends Supervising classes mandated by the Company.
  • Conducts administrative tasks/projects for management.

Qualifications

Education:

 

  • Minimum: 2-3 years of directly related experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree emphasis in law or paralegal program

Experience:

  • Minimum: 2 years of directly related company experience. Experience handling Small Claims Court files.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of directly-related experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role, Experience with Company small claims policies and procedures or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Skills and Abilities:

 

Minimum:

  • Knowledge of small claims court law.

 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of small claims court law, ability to train, mentor and monitor small claims representatives and paralegals in handling small claims matters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively articulate defense arguments to the court, answer questions, resolve issues and communicate with other team members.
  • Able to travel to court and other locations as required.

Pay Range

USD $73,127.00 - USD $127,722.00 /Yr.
