Overview

Position Summary:

The Sr. Data Analyst, Marketing, will work closely with multiple stakeholders, including media and advertising agencies, Product, Customer and Agent Experience, Sales Development, and Enterprise Data & Analytics, to deliver world-class advanced data analyses of marketing paid, earned and owned campaigns and initiatives and estimate their impact on company KPIs. This person will demonstrate thought leadership that contributes to channel optimization, effective multi-variant testing, increased audience reach, insightful analysis, and overall campaign performance. This person will create and maintain performance-based dashboards and help provide actionable insights.

 

This role will contribute to the evolution of marketing analytics within Mercury, evaluating and implementing new applications for measurement, optimization, personalization and user acquisition across all marketing channels including collaborating on the design and launch of attribution modeling. The ideal candidate contributes to all aspects of marketing, including strategy, vision, execution and management of marketing technology and data.

 

State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:

$83,395 to $154,017 (CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)

$75,813 to $140,016 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)

$68,232 to $126,014 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)

 

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Define, build, and maintain reporting to monitor performance of paid and organic media efforts across multiple platforms.

• Drive actionable insights and recommendations in an easy to digest manner and communicate key insights across all levels of the organization.

• Use Python, SQL, dbt, and Power BI to create and maintain analytical infrastructure and reporting including dashboard creation and management for business users. 

• Drive analysis of marketing channel performance and interactions across the customer buying journey, partnering with other data organizations within the company to identify opportunities for optimization in media mix, content, website and app experiences.

• Help measure the impact and effectiveness of various marketing campaigns, including TV, outdoor, digital (video, display, etc.), direct mail, PR, content marketing, SEO, social, lead gen, and SEM.

• Utilize survey and voice of customer data to report on brand trust and awareness.

• Execute A/B/n testing and evaluation strategies to help improve business results.

• Work in partnership with teams developing marketing & media mix attribution model solutions to inform marketing spend allocations and partners for future campaigns.

• Collaborate with internal and external resources to streamline and establish standard procedures for database manipulation and report/output preparation.

• Collaborate with data governance teams to champion consistent metrics throughout the company.

• Continually evaluate data efficiencies and areas for automation.

• Provide analysis to better understand implementation options for analytical models/procedures, and work closely with other groups through implementation processes.

• Merge online and offline data, including service and support interactions to enable accurate attribution and campaign effectiveness measurement. 

• Collaborate with Customer and Agent Experience and Data Analytics to implement journey, behavioral and emotional analytics to uncover marketing and customer experience optimization opportunities.  Help support the establishment of the role of such metrics in the overall marketing measurement program.

• Support the creation of a single view of prospect and customer data that includes anonymous or known behavioral and experiential measurement and indicators 

• Act as the primary Marketing stakeholder in the implementation of a customer data platform that supports data collection, profile building (including ID resolution and ID graphs) and segmentation, and marketing activation across multiple channels.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree with analytical concentration in mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, finance, etc., or equivalent experience.

• Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

• 6+ years data analysis experience.

• 4+ years A/B/n testing for digital and direct marketing.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strength and proven track record in identifying new market opportunities, translating complex business needs into innovative solutions, helping define and execute marketing strategies and roadmaps.

• Expert in reporting on media spend, efficiency, and optimization and its influence on owned and earned media.

• Experience with data visualization platforms and web apps (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny, Steamlit, Google Data Studio) with strong visual dashboard design skills.

• Experienced user of Salesforce. Candidate must be adept at creating custom report types and proficient in report building – full understanding of native Salesforce objects and capabilities.

• Expert knowledge of digital analytics and tools.

• Familiarity with brand metric tracking platforms, such as The Harris Poll.

• Experience designing, executing, and measuring marketing A/B/n tests.

• Solid knowledge and experience with CDPs and marketing measurement tools. 

• Expertise in writing complex SQL queries and dbt models to combine datasets across multiple sources.

• Experience building ELT pipelines using dbt or similar tools to support analytical processes.

• Experience using version control platforms like GitHub/GitLab

• Fluency in media technology, ad serving platforms, and marketing data systems.

• Passion and proven track record in using technology to help solve complex business problems.

• Understanding of industry trends relating to cookies, consent and privacy and their impact on marketing effectiveness.

• Working knowledge of server-side integrations and ad tag implementation and management (Adobe Launch, Tealium) a plus.

Pay Range

USD $83,395.00 - USD $154,017.00 /Yr.
