State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:

$83,395 to $154,017 (CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)

$75,813 to $140,016 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)

$68,232 to $126,014 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.

 

Position Summary:
The Sr. Software Quality Assurance Engineer is an advanced level position that develops automated testing strategies, patterns, and tools that support the testing of new or modified software programs. This position is expected to handle escalations and complex issues. Incumbents are responsible for participating in multiple high visibility projects.

Essential Job Functions:
• Master technical tools used in testing
• Review and obtain a detailed understanding of the project scope, requirements, and design in order to utilize the appropriate test method to test against them
• Determine a testing strategy and plan to test changes to applications
• Develop reusable test patterns, strategies and plan
• Develop test cases that test application changes and impacts based on functional requirements and design documents
• Develop and implement automated script and programs which support the automation individual test cases
• Execute test cases and log results including defects
• Collaborate with the project team on reviews, reports, and communicating status updates
• Mentor less experienced members of the quality assurance team and serves as a subject matter expert SME

• Cordially and professionally interact with customers, vendors, superiors and peers
• Regular attendance on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours and 40 hours per week
• Various marginal functions

Education:
• BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:
• 3-4 years of experience in software development, including 1-2 years of directly related experience or in the capacity of a Software QA Engineer II; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Preferred Experience:

• 1 or more years of experience with IVR systems similar to Amazon Connect, Avaya, etc.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to independently organize work processes, set priorities and make decisions on assignments
  • Must have proven leadership abilities and dedication to mentoring technical staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate professionally at all levels within and outside of the organization
  • Thorough working knowledge of insurance terminology
  • Proficient in MS applications (Excel, Word, Access).
  • Knowledge and understanding of assigned business unit (Claims, Underwriting, Billing, etc.) policies, procedures and operations
  • Specific systems knowledge and experience may be required based on assignment.
  • Knowledge of current computer system including system layout, capabilities, database manipulation, screen information, and work processes
  • Able to analyze user specifications, logically plan, coordinate, develop and test new or existing computer programs to resolve problems or enhance system
  • Requires critical attention to detail and motivation to efficiently complete assigned projects
  • Ability to thrive in cross-functional matrix environment
